The mysterious Islets Of Langerhans. What are they? Where did they come from? No one seems to know. Some say they floated in one night on an abandoned oil tanker off the coast of Scotland. Some say that they don't really exist in the real world and that they have been created by an advanced life form existing on an alternate plane of reality. Others say that they were a science experiment that inexplicably grew sentient and escaped from the lab where they were created and that the lead scientist on the project was found to be working a deep undercover operation for Norway. But why Norway? What were the Norwegians up to? It's all a mystery.
No one knows how it got here. It’s a mystery that has baffled geographers and map makers around the world.
It’s almost as if it was created specifically with mysterious scientists in mind offering them a homeland when all other countries got sick of their mysterious, deep undercover scientific ways and gave them the boot.
Before there was Norway there was nothing. No land where research into the creation of sentient life forms under strict laboratory conditions could ever take place. Those were bleak days indeed. Historians refer to that time as ‘The days before Norway’.
There are many Musk Oxen in Norway. They run totally free there and most Norwegians aren’t remotely bothered by that.
Oh Islets Of Langerhans
So far away
On the deck of a ship
Covered with spray
Your mystery grows
Whenever you leave
For uncharted waters
That sailors believe
Will lead them to splendour
And riches untold
They have no idea
Of the dark and the cold
That lives in the beakers
The bubbles and flames
Of your last assignment
Where nothing remains
Of all of the people
Who hadn’t a clue
That what would destroy them
Turned out to be you
With corpses behind
You started to flee
The building ablaze
You ran to the sea
And boarded a vessel
And pointed it East
To look for a harbour
To unlock the beast
I know you’re still out there
And one day we’ll know
Where Islets Of Langerhans
Happened to go
